Five adult members took part in the Marston 5 K, along with 334 other runners, on a dry but blustery Friday evening. In addition two of our youth members, Ellen and Keira, ran the 1k Fun Run - well done girls for taking part and doing your best.
Times
Chris 22.10 (95)
Pete 23.51 (133)
Les 28.10 (226)
Jason 30.00 (253)
Sian 39.01 (336)
Well done to everyone, especially Pete with a new PB and Sian who kept running all the of the way and was significantly quicker than last year.
The only downside of the evening was that I agravated my ankle injury and was limping for the last 2K and am now banned from running until it has healed properly, which I am told is likely to be at least 4 weeks. :-(

Parkrun MK - 9 June 2012
Just 2 runners from FlitwickTri in the Milton Keynes Parkrun on Saturday but that didn't stop one of them setting a new PB.
Pete finished in a new PB time of 23.58 to dip under the 24 minuite barrier with Les finishing in 28.49 just 15 seconds outside his PB.
Some good form being shown by them both before the Marston 5K next Friday.

Silverstone Duathlon - 6 June 2012
Jason and I took part in a very windy Silverstone Duathlon on Wednesday evening. The track being exposed was certainly not a bonus especially on the long straight that we had to cover on our bikes on each of the 3 laps of the Grand Prix circuit.
The field was very strong with an amazing array of very tasty looking time trial bikes. All the GB age group triathlon suits and cycle team jerseys should have been a giveaway of what we were up against. The winners first 2 mile run time was 9.38!
Of the 100 finishers I managed 61st in 1.08.52 with Jason in 90th in 1.22.24. We were both pleased with our results given the high quality field
Pete came along to check out the event for the later races and to obtain photographic evidence of our efforts. A few examples appear below:

Ironman 70.3 UK
I will be taking part in my first half-Ironman (and my third ever triathlon) on Sunday, 17th June. This is not just any Ironman 70.3 race, but the one cited as the toughest there is, with 52 hills on the bike and a punishing off-road run. But to be honest I will be looking forward to those events as it will mean I will have survived the swim - something I have been training hard for since I could barely do two lengths of front crawl this time last year.
I am raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association who looked after my wife's uncle until he died earlier this year - any donations for this folly will be much appreciated.

Parkrun MK - 02.06.12
Sian and I did the Parkrun in Milton Keynes on Saturday.
I managed 24min 04 - just 2 sec off my PB which was frustrating.
Sian finished in 37min 43 about 30 sec off her PB....
Les volunteered and did numbers.
